My Thoughts:

Oracular Spectacular by MGMT was one of my favorite albums as a teenager. I’ve always enjoyed how it starts as an indie electropop album and transitions into a psychedelic rock album. The bands wrote the album to be tounge in cheek and poke fun at indie artists of the time. Unfortunately, the songs parodied the sound so well that they attracted the fan base they were making fun of and struggled to define their sound following this albums release. One unique thing to about MGMTs sound is the use of unison with octaves for most of the vocal backing instead of harmony.
