Strange, Catchy, and Eclectic. “Drunk” fuses Thundercat’s technically excellent bass playing and smooth falsetto vocals in a standout showcase. Thundercat explores Love and Relationships through an introspective and humorous narrative. I find the cultural significance of this album and Thundercats presence in music of the last 10 years interesting. Especially considering the contrast of sounds compared to his contemporaries in pop music. This album in particular fueled my deep dive into funk music. As the album titles suggests, this album is best enjoyed alone with an adult beverage, preferably with headphones.
