Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

My Thoughts:

Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots is a unique concept album full of sonic experimentation. The Flaming Lips explore the concepts of love mortality and humanity through a sci-fi story about a a Japanese girl who battles evil pink robots. I would call the production chaotic and saturated to the point of distortion but its anything but sloppy. This album is meticulously deliberate and every time I listen to it I notice something new. The production cannot be understated, few albums sound as expansive as Yoshii. This album energetic and imaginative, best listened to when you need a pick me up.
